It’s a small world: a view from the bottom

As part of the Vigyan Jyoti Programme, Dr. Chandni U from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore will 

deliver a lecture titled 'It’s a small world: a view from the bottom'.

Abstract: How small can an electronic circuit be? Can we engineer materials to create next generation of technology with a multitude of amazing features? How do you design devices that are flexible, wearable, transparent, self-powered and energy efficient? Do these devices follow the physics that you have learnt in your classrooms, or will their quantum nature unravel new surprises? In this talk I will take you through these questions and more. I will discuss on how a deep understanding of the quantum nature of electrons and some phenomenal advances in materials science have laid the foundation for numerous advances in technology.
